Question 2 —>

DJ-Draven's Round Table:  2011 Nov 14

In this third Round Table Discussion, DJ-Draven focuses on the topic of electronic music.

Question #1:

Just as the piano and other instruments have been phased out of most music, what instrument do you feel is become phased out in music today?

My first choice would be string instruments, like violin and cello. There are few very good, interesting and successful bands using them, like German band Deine Lakaien. Personally, I love the sound of electronic music combined with violin and cello they are performing. I think it fits perfectly in their music, and results from other talented musicians/bands combining electronic instruments with string instruments could also be excellent.

I don't hear enough guitar anymore , more drum machines are being used. I'd like to see AUTO-TUNE be phased out.

Don't know, don't care?

Drum Machines! Alot of older bands relied on them during live shows for drum tracks. Now they have drum backing tracks, or live drummers playing over the backing tracks.
