Korn Works With Skrillex, New Album December 6th | |
Jonathan Davis of Korn has stated that the rock music scene is lame and wanted to add something new to the next album. This something new is why he has brought in the dub step powerhouse Skrillex. ![]() Jonathan Davis has stated that the requirements to get on radio have become a bit mundane. That the music that is blasting on the FM airwaves all sounds the same. He wanted his music to give him excitement in a new direction that isn't a dead end for him artisticly. This new direction that he sees is the electronic music scene. The electronic scene is something new for both Korn and Jonathan Davis. The help that Skrillex is offering is to help work out some of the kinks in this new direction for the band. Davis has been very impressed with the depth of skills and the ease of support that Skrillex has offered. He has stated that working with him has been much easier that some of the others that Korn has brought in the help them with this new direction. The Path of Totality has been a trying album for Korn to create. Jonathan Davis has stated that it was one that presented a ton of work and was a major nightmare in some points of its development. The album is slated to have some rarities of the band, which almost never get played in concerts. It will also include a number of new songs that will present the electronic elements that they have been developing into their music. The goal is to have this album as a transition of the older harder Korn and the newer Korn. It will be just as hard, but with some new elements.
